Outside the garden, there is an uncontrollable wild[er]ness and inevitability — the promise of transformation.

Escaping Eden is a passion project-turned-zine inspired by the way mankind’s collective struggles around change are connected to the cycles found in nature.

This zine began from the realization that there was no representation of the growing pains central to third-culture young adulthoods. Escaping Eden reflects upon the processes of loss and discovery, and the way these cycles move through and unite us.

Heavily inspired by the visual beauty of nature and the way man made constructs interact within it, we feature photos and designs on each page to represent this interplay and the way we “see” our worlds.

Also included are a wide range of literary works such as personal essays and short stories that all encapsulate the essence of life, death, and the ebbs and flows between the two.

Inclusive of all of the different ways that creativity can connect to the theme, various parts of our zine incorporate other mediums such as curated song playlists, collages, and comics.

The first issue is now available for distribution, and we are excited to share this culmination of heartfelt art and ideas to the local creative scenes of the communities we are in.
